It's been announced on Thursday that Michael S. Chernuchin has signed on as the showrunner of the NBC's new drama series, Chicago Justice.
The move brings him back into the Dick Wolf world after a long stints as a producer-writer on the Wolf's flagship Law & Order franchise, which he ran from 2002-2004. Along he was executive producer on Law & Order Criminal Intent.
Recently Chernuchin was the Executive Producer of Audience Network's Rogue and Starz's Black Sails.
NBC picked up the fourth installment of the Chicago franchise series last month. The legal offshoot, whose characters where introduce in the May 11th episode of Chicago PD, revolves around the Chicago State's Attorney's team of prosecutors and investigators as they navigate heated city politics and controversy head-on while fearlessly pursing justice.
Philip Winchester stars alongside Carl Weathers, Nazneen Contractor, Joelle Carter and Ryan-James Hatanaka.
Chernuchin, Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Derek Haas, Michael Brandt, Authur Forney and Peter Jankowski serves as executive producers on Chicago Justice, which will premiere in midseason of the 2016-2017 TV Season.
