We all know Game of Thrones is known for pulling off unbelievable scenes and creating huge title waves within the Throne's Universe, but this finale... WAY BIGGER SHOCKER THAN EVER BEFORE. From the shocking meet that went well the second time around then turning to complete rubbish to yet another case of Game of Thrones incest. I mean seriously, what's up with that? The seventh season finale of HBO's Number 1 series blew every critic away, everybody away and at the end...total anarchy...
As soon as the beginning credits ended, the start of the end began. The Unsullied stayed perfectly aligned as their brethren in arms swarmed, Jamie and Bronn watching in shock and awe. While this was going on, Tyrion, Jon, Jorah, and Lord Verys took to the sea. They sailed to King's Landing. Cersei consulted with her Hand about Daenerys' whereabouts but he doesn't know. When they dock, Jon, Missandei, Tyrion, Verys and the others meet with Bronn. The Hound is in charge of the encased White Walker they intend to show Cersei. When they get to the Dragon's arena, the aftermath of the tortured and killed dragons is present. It's sad. Then, the Queen arrives. Cersei sits on her side of the meeting grounds next to Jamie and Euron. She asks where Daenerys is, they say she will be arriving shortly. And, she did...on DROGON. Once there, the meeting commences.,
Tyrion speaks first, explaining that their threat is very real and larger than the threat to the Iron Throne. Jon steps up, saying it's a matter of life and death. Daenerys gives Cersei her word that she will not attack King's Landing and that her forces are safe until the Great War ends. The Hound brings out the White Walker and it goes to attack Cersei but he pulls it back and lobs it in half. It's not dead. Jon tells them that only two ways kill them; fire and Dragonglass. He kills it with the Dragonglass dagger, burning a limb with fire. Euron jumps up and inspects the dead White Walker then says he's taking his troops back to the Iron Islands. Cersei accepts Dany's truce with an exception; Jon stays in the North. This does not go as planned, Jon saying he's pledged to Daenerys. Cersei pulls back, saying that they will deal with what's left of them (Dany, her army, Jon, etc.) when the White Walkers have ended them. She gets up and they leave. Daenerys respects Jon's loyalty but is angry, thinking that her dragon's death was for nothing. Tyrion goes to speak with Cersei. That was all but useful in the beginning. But in the end, Cersei agrees to allow use of her troops.
While Tyrion is gone, Daenerys and Jon talk. She describes to Jon what happened to the dragons, what happened to the people. They brainstorm about their next move before Jon finally quotes someone then finally says "We're fucked," they both laugh.
Little Finger and Sansa discuss Arya's intentions. He tells Sansa a game he likes to play, assume the worst. What would be the worst thing that Arya could want? Sansa thinks it's her dead and her (Arya) becoming Lady of Winterfell. Baelish's plan works to fill Sansa's head full of nonsense.
Jon and Daenerys begin to strategize a plan of action to gather troops, planning to sail together to show unity. As Jon leaves the command center, Theon stops Jon. Theon gives Jon praise for what he did even though what he did could have missed what they were planning up. Jon says his image of him (Jon) is wrong, then Theon says he has a hard time deciding which side to choose, Start of Greyjoy. Jon says he doesn't have to choose; he's both. Theon tells Jon that Yara was the only one to help him when he was imprisoned and now she needs his help. Jon tells him to help her instead of talking to him. Theon meets the fleet that's out by the boats. He tells the head man that they're going to find her. He says she's probably dead. Theon says they're going to find his sister. The man begins to beat on Theon, he takes it then a crotch shot from the guy backfires, and Theon takes control of the fight. He grabs a rock and hashes the guy's head in, killing him. Then, he shouts "Not for me, for YARA!" the other chant "For Yara" and they head out into the sea.
Sansa is seen outside, cloaked in a hood. She gathers a hearing with Bran and Lord Baelish at her side along with some of the army. Arya plays the victim until Sansa turns the table and the charges and acts he committed are revealed. Baelish goes off, first anger than fear. He begs Sansa for a chance to explain but she's not hearing it. She gives Arya the signal and she slits his throat where he stands, bleeding out before the Lady of Winterfell. Sansa sighs a breath of relief.
Back in King's Landing, the Queen and her head military man converse. She tells him that what she said was to protect the North, to protect their child. But Jamie is dead set on staying true to his word. Cersei admits that it's all real and that they can take back what's theirs while they're fighting but Jamie tells her that everyone already wants them dead, they have no house alliances. Cersei tells him that they do have something; the Iron Bank. She breaks the news that Euron didn't really leave, and then she tells him that she knows about the conspiring. Then, she tells him it's treason in her books. Jamie goes to walk away but she tells him no one does that. She tells her to give Sir Gregory the command. She nods and Jamie is followed out by the Mountain. Cersei can only watch. It shows Jamie on horseback looking to the sky. Then, he trots off and King's Landing begins to be lightly dusted in snow.
Samwell arrives in Winterfell. He meets with Bran who spills what's good about Jon while Jon and Daenerys did the nasty. Jon's real Father is Raegar Targaraen and his mother is Eddark Stark's sister, making Dany and Jon Aunt and Nephew. Oooooooooooh. Jon's real name is Aegor Targaraen and he is the RIGHTFUL heir to The Iron Throne.
Sansa and Arya talk about earlier's happenings. Arya says that it needed to happen. Then, she tells Sansa that what she endured she never could. Sansa believes other. Then, they recite something their father used to say; "When winter come we must protect ourselves, look out for one another. When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives" They both admit to missing Eddark.
While Bran is at the Wise Oak, Tormund and Beric are making their way to the Watch Point of the Wall. Moments later, they see the first of the White Walkers emerge from the treeline. Tormund sounds the horn and the Army freezes. White Walker Veserion suddenly tears through the sky, the Night King on his back. Veserion demolishes the Wall, burning it with icy fire. Half of the Wall collapses into the sea, Tormund, Beric and the others running for cover. The army begins to march forth through the downed wall...
What did YOU think of the season finale of Game Of Thrones? Did you expect that ending or something else? Let me know in the comments below!
HBO has left us with one helluva cliff hanger for the finale so millions of fans have to wait a year...if not two to find out what happened...so many questions will arise, here are just a few that will NEED to be answered in the final season of the series.
- Will Cersei follow through? We all know how cold hearted and evil Cersei has become, hell, I believe she's always been that way. But do you think she'll hold true to her pull back plan? Or will fear to work its magic and make the Queen rethink pulling her troops back?
- What will Jamie's outcome be? Number one and most present factor being, where the Hell is he going? Is he training sides? Will he surrender to the White Walkers? Will he even survive until he reaches his destination?
- Will Tormund and Beric survive? We saw the duo, like the others on the Wall, running for cover as the White Walker Dragon was demolishing the Wall. Did they make it out alive? Will they?
- How was the Dragon flying? Okay, okay I get it, it's Hollywood and it's special effects like a green screen but damn that was cool. I honestly thought that Veserion looked badass in White Walker form, even though it was sad. But seriously, how is that big thing flying? I guess I should be asking how the horses are standing with no muscle, no flesh, and no brain, but like it's still cool.
- Who will warn everyone? Tormund was able to sound one horn blow before chaos instilled. But was that enough? Was there a rider that was to be sent out per horn blow? Or will Bran tell everyone given his vision seeing moment?
- What does this mean for Westeros? With the White Walkers on their way, what does this mean for Westeros? There's no modern communication for ones to tell everyone about the happenings at the Wall. But, they do have forces. Unfortunately, Daenerys and Jon are at sea, so will they get the message? Or will they be blindsided by the Army of the Dead?
Until next time guys, be safe out there! Much love
