#LegendsofTomorrow S2 Ep 5 "Compromised" Recap and Review & A FYI

This week's episode of Legend's takes the team to 1987, to Washington DC. Reverse Flash and Damian Darhk are brokering a deal with the KGB, for a mysterious object. The team initially believes that they are there to attack the piece talks between the US and Russia. This is the point in history where to world's two superpowers agree to downsize their nuclear arsenals. They find out that the villain's plans are more subtle and unknown.

We once again encounter an young Martin Stein, now married, who is involved in this deal because of his field of study. He is injured when he stumbles upon Darhk making a deal with a KGB operative and Ray and Mick have to save him. On the Waverider Martin scolds his younger self for neglecting their wife and being too focused on his work. He is able to convince his younger self to cherish his wife above everything and make sure she knows it.

Amaya and Nick go to the JSA training facility, which is now abandoned. There they discover and old Obsidian, the last surviving member of the JSA. During this encounter Nick learns that Amaya and Rex were lovers and were going to leave the JSA after WW2. Later on she has a conversation with Sara, saying that she will arrest Rex's killer and not kill him. Sara reflects on this, having once again put the mission and her team at risk in order to try and kill Damien Darhk. By the end of the episode she seems to have finally accepted that she can't be selfish with the timeline.

The final encounter with Darhk and his men features Obsidian and Steel. Nick seems to be quickly getting the hang of his powers and single handedly takes on many of the thugs. Obsidian helps Amaya and Sara fight Darhk but is wounded. Sara comes face to face with Darhk. Instead of killing him, she tells him everything that happened in S4 of Arrow. This terrifies him, but he manages to escape, when Thawne runs in and takes him. This is also when the team discovers that the time traveller is a speedster and one that is faster than the Flash. The team leave the time period, having completed their mission and Martin has one last talk with his younger self.

Later he demands that Thawne takes him through time in order to change his future. Thawne reveals a time machine and the two travel to an unknown time period.

This episode had some great moments. One of those being Sara's last interaction with Darhk. I was very annoyed to have her, once again, endanger to team for personal revenge. But by the end she put the fear of death and failure into Darhk, which broke the villains smug attitude. This was a very satisfying turn of events.

Having Todd (Obsidian) as an older man make an appearance was also interesting. I enjoyed seeing more of the darkness-weilding hero. His appearance was fun and the actor did a great job. I do hope that we'll see more of this version of him, consider he was a mute, faceless, character in the 1940's.

Having Darhk now travel with Thawne adds a new dynamic to the Legion. I was curious as to how they were going to get Merlyn on their team. It looks like they will stop by modern times to either pick him up or operate in that time period. I'm really excited to see the Dark Archer again.
