"You said, 'remember, I love you.'"
This week, we catch up with Stiles after his abduction by the ghost riders. While Stiles waits in an abandoned train station, trying to figure out what's happened to him, those around him seem not to even notice where they are or what they're doing. After questioning those sitting next to him, Stiles realizes that there is some sort of enchantment or mystical boundary on this place. Just then, he finds Peter Hale in the train station with him. Peter isn't thrilled to see Stiles, but he's certainly not disappointed to see a familiar face. Stiles convinces Peter that they aren't in this train station of their own free will and prompts Peter to remember how he got there in the first place.
We finally see how Peter escaped Eichen House, which is something fans have been waiting quite awhile to see. The second after Peter carves the alpha sign in the floor of his cell with a sharp cutting tool of some sort, the lights in Eichen House immediately go off, prompting the backup generator to kick on. In the intervening time, however, the cell doors unlock and prisoners escape into the hallways to be confronted by guards. It seems, as prisoners and guards clash in the hallways that most of the prisoners in at least this wing of Eichen House do not possess supernatural abilities or preternatural strength as Peter does, since the guards subdue many a prisoner while Peter walks casually through the hallways, taking the only guard who approaches him out in one punch. He does not, however, kill any of the guards during his escape. Is this a sign that Peter has changed for the better or a matter or simple expediency? Once Peter leaves Eichen House, attempting to steal a car and drive away, he is confronted and shot by the wild hunt and kidnapped. Enter Stiles.
Stiles and Peter try to hatch a plan to escape. There is a lot of information contained within this episode and the plot feels as if it's being deliberately held back at times, however, Radio Silence is an integral episode to this season's plot development and character arcs. Peter and Stiles notice that while the rest of the captives within the train station (which as Peter explains, cannot be in Beacon Hills because Beacon Hills does not have a train station) forget when the wild hunt come and go, one young man does not. In fact, this young man is watching them closely. Upon confronting him, Peter and Stiles find that he has found a way out of the train station which requires walking through a tunnel that they are spelled not to want to approach and following the wild hunt to a doorway within. The young man hasn't ever tried to leave with the wild hunt, however, because to do so would require him to jump onto one of their horse and try to ride the lightning out of the tunnel with them. Yikes. As you might imagine, when the young man finally attempts this, it does not work out favorably for him.
Back at school, Lydia, Malia and Scott find Stiles' jeep. Although Mrs. Stilinski swears up and down that there's absolutely nothing fishy about that (wink wink, nudge nudge), The Pack bribe the tow truck driver trying to collect Stiles' jeep, break into the car and find that their scents are in the car from before, a sure sign that they've spent time there.
Stiles and Peter find a radio room in the train station and jury rig it to transmit a broadcast which reaches Stiles' car with The Pack still in it. The Pack reunite's with Stiles momentarily, if only via ham radio. Stiles asks Lydia what the last thing was he said to her. Lydia answers, "remember, I love you." That Pack is prepared to do everything they have to do to get Stiles back.
The next time Stiles and Peter go into the train station tunnel, Peter, a werewolf who is much stronger than the young man who died earlier trying to escape jumps onto the back of one of the wild hunt and rides through the barrier with them, holding Stiles' car keys. Malia and Scott are there to wait with him while recovers from the ordeal, bloody and weak and in horrible pain. Malia and Scott both start to remember Peter and as they do, they reach down and take some of his pain.
