#TheFlash Season 4 Episode 22 "Think Fast" Recap and Review

Diggle is at an A.R.G.U.S. Black Ops site. Once they let their security down, we found out it’s not Diggle at all. It’s Devoe, and he proceeds to kill guards to the tune of the Hallelujah chorus. What is it with villains and symphonies?

Team Flash are searching airfields for where Devoe is going to launch the satellites. Cisco wants them to split up so that at least one of them is at the right one. Barry thinks that’s a bad idea. Iris is looking for Marlize and Harry is getting worse. Then the blog gets hacked by Devoe.

Caitlin is taking her turn with the therapist, who wants to talk about her dad. Caitlin says that he was great and died of ALS. On any other show, that would just be sad backstory. But guess who else on this show had ALS? Clifford Devoe. So that will be important later.

Cisco gets around the Devoe hack and finds the message a lab tech sent from A.R.G.U.S. about Fallout. Barry gets Diggle; it’s the real one because he throws up when he gets there, and asks him to check the facility. Diggle sees that someone checked in as him 6 hours before. Then they see the rad levels. Devoe is using Fallout as a battery, and they have 12 hours to stop him.

Barry wants to use Flashtime to get through the security system. That would work, except that Devoe has hostages.

Harry and Iris talk about how to find the Mechanic.

Caitlin and Cisco want Barry to bring them into Flashtime, and they have a science plan so that he doesn’t have to hold onto them. They would have about 55ms of real time.

Barry agrees to train them in a model they’ve built in the Speed lab. At first it works, until Cisco can’t breach and panics.

Joe and Cecile talk to Caitlin. Caitlin thinks that Cecile’s pregnancy hormones are stretching her meta abilities. She can now inhabit people’s minds. Caitlin says that she should stay isolated and use an inhaler.

Iris and Harry are investigating Marlize. Harry wants to turn her. Iris does not and she leaves in a huff.

During another training session, Cisco is able to create a baby breach, but Caitlin can’t get the cold gun to work, and she panics. When she falls, she has a flashback.

In the infirmary, Barry says that he doesn’t want them to do this. They could die.

Barry and Cisco talk about Ralph. Barry says that he couldn’t take losing them. Cisco says that this is their choice. They need a leader. Barry eventually caves.

Devoe shrinks Fallout’s chamber, puts it in his pocket, and leaves.

While Caitlin and Cisco free the hostages, Barry follows Devoe.

Devoe releases the satellites and Barry destroys one with Amunet’s device. Then Devoe starts monologuing like a bitter philosophy major. He leaves.

After Caitlin and Cisco talk to the saved hostages, Caitlin asks Cisco to vibe a repressed memory. It’s Killer Frost showing up when Caitlin was a child, which is impossible.

IMG_5356.jpg

Iris and Harry find the Mechanic in England. Harry tries to talk to her but can’t find the words, so Iris gives her a pep talk.

IMG_5374.jpg

Devoe uses the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite to replace the one Barry destroyed. He seals himself inside the Gideon room and uses it as a launchpad.

This isn’t a depressing, bad guys win kind of show, but neither was the MCU and here we are, so I’m nervous about how they get out of this one. 8.5/10.
