This week's episode, "Vegas Baby," gives us a front row seat to Jack's mastery of the perfect anniversary gift. Jack and Rebecca are celebrating their 1st anniversary on league night. Rebecca presents Jack with a notebook because he is always scribbling. It's bound and personalized, and Jack loves it! Rebecca thinks she's nailed it! Just then, the lights go down at the bowling alley... everyone stops bowling, and they have a dance.
Jack nails it again a few years later. Rebecca has a special hammer made for him with his name on it. Jack surprises her with a grand piano.
It's their anniversary again, and this year, Rebecca has asked Jack for no grand gestures, no gifts at all. What Rebecca wants most this year is an alone time when the kids have gone to bed. Jack has reluctantly agreed.
Jack is in the kitchen making pancakes for the family. The kids are surprised when Jack tells them that there will be no "fireworks" for their parent's anniversary this year.
The kids are disappointed and talk Jack into letting them throw them an anniversary dinner. Rebecca said she didn't want Jack to fuss; she didn't say anything about Kevin, Kate, and Randall doing it. Loophole!
Randall, Kate, and Kevin go all out to create a wonderful anniversary for Rebecca and Jack. It's time for the festivities, but Kevin loses it when Jack forgets to start the oven! No dinner! Turns out the reason that Kevin orchestrated all this is because Sophia's parents are getting a divorce and he thought that because Jack did not prepare his usual anniversary extravaganza, that meant Rebecca and Jack were getting a divorce too. Jack and Rebecca assure Kevin that they will never divorce. A happy Kevin heads to bed.
At last, Rebecca and Jack are alone. The dinner may not have turned out as planned, but that was only part of the kid's surprise. As they head to their bedroom, they see that they're children have also created a romantic getaway for their parent's on the rooftop to watch the stars.
It may not have been the low-key anniversary that Rebecca wanted but how cool is it that Randall, Kevin, and Kate created all of this for them. They are following in Jack's footsteps.
Present day, Deja has come to Beth and Randall for help. Her mom lost her job, and they have had no heat in their apartment in weeks. Deja doesn't know what to do. She asks Beth and Randall for $89.34 in cash. Randall offers to set up a direct deposit, but Deja's mom can't find out that she came to them, so she says cash is best. Beth and Randall agree of course, and Randall makes Deja promise that she will call him if she needs anything.
Later, Randall and Beth ready for their trip to Vegas and Kate and Toby's bachelor/bachelorette parties. Beth is stoked, Randall doesn't think they should leave in case Deja needs them. Beth reminds Randall that they have done all they can do. Deja is no longer in their care.

Toby is upset that his brother won't be attending and Kate, as it turns out, is intimidated by Beth. But, Toby sees this weekend as a chance to bond with Kevin and Randall, and for that reason alone, he is excited about the trip. I didn't realize that Beth so intimated Kate.
Beth is feeling Vegas! Beth and Randall have been through a lot over the last few months. As she and Randall are in the limo heading to their hotel, they discuss Deja. Randall is still very worried that they won't be home if she needs them. Beth reminds Randall that they have done all they can do. They are not responsible for her life anymore. Beth is hurt when Randall insinuates that Beth is detached.
Kevin sits in his room in Vegas staring at the stocked liquor cabinet. He calls for housekeeping, and when the hotel maid arrives, Kevin tells her that he is in recovery and is determined to stay sober even in Vegas. There are 27 bottles in the cabinet, and he asks her to monitor his intake.
Toby's party starts off pretty well. Kevin is entertaining everyone with stories of he and Randall. The laughter is short-lived though when Randall finally gets a call from Deja and leaves to take the call. Kevin spots his co-star from the Ron Howard movie and goes to talk to her. Toby is left at the table with his "filler" friends.
At the bar, Kevin learns that his friend's part was completely cut out of the movie. Over 1/2 of Kevin's scenes were with this particular actress, so Kevin assumes that he is going to be cut too. Kevin is devastated and leaves the bar rather than give in to his temptation to drink.
The ladies are at the Magic Mike show and having a wonderful time! Beth ends up onstage with the dancers! Having just talked to Deja, Randall heads to find Beth. He walks into the club and is not happy to see Beth onstage. He tells Beth that Deja called and although she said she was fine, he felt like there was something she wasn't telling him. There's still tension between Randall and Beth from their conversation in the limo, so it's no surprise when a huge fight ensues. As all eyes turn to Beth and Randall, Kate steps in and tells Beth off. Hurt, Beth leaves and heads back to her room.
Kate is talking to Randall after Beth leaves and asks him how Toby's party was going. Randall tells her that he and Kevin left the party early. Kate tells Randall that for Toby, the party was all about bonding with his future brothers-in-law.
Feeling bad for ditching Toby's party, Randall and Kevin show up at Toby's door. Toby is so excited and the three-hit Fremont Street!
It's time for Kate to make amends with Beth, so she knocks on Beth's door. She and Kate have a long-awaited heart to heart. Kate apologizes for her fierce protectiveness of Randall and Beth opens up about her feelings for Deja and tells Kate how much she loves and misses having Deja in their life.
Back on Fremont Street, Kevin tells Randall and Toby about the conversation with his co-star. Toby suggests that Kevin call Ron Howard. Kevin doesn't see "what have you go to lose" point, but he does think about it.
The Vegas festivities are drawing to a close. Kevin decides to take Toby's advice and call Ron Howard. Kevin gives Ron his speech about cutting him from the movie. Ron waits for Kevin to finish before he tells Kevin that his part has not been cut. As it turns out, Kevin's scenes with Sylvester Stallone were so strong that the focus of the film is now about that relationship. Kevin is speechless when Ron tells Kevin to get a tux ready. He's going to need it for the award shows!
As Beth and Randall head to the airport, they are finally honest with each other about Deja and they decide to stop by their apartment before they go home. They knock on their apartment door and a neighbor passing by tells them that Deja and her mother no longer live there. Confused, as Randall and Beth head back to their car, they notice Deja asleep in a car. They are shocked to find that Deja and her mom are homeless and living in their car. Deja is horrified when she wakes and sees that Randall and Beth found her.
