AM Teens Top 10 Must Watch Netflix Original Series
Netflix has come a long way since just show movies, now they create their own original series and they are as good as the one’s on TV if not better, and I say this because it is commercial free and I don’t have to wait 7 days before seeing the next episode.
Degrassi Next Class: The season follows a group of high school sophomores and juniors from Degrassi Community School, it depicts some of the typical issues and challenges common to a teenager’s life. The season will depict a new school year after the previous seniors, some of which debuted during Degrassi: The Next Generation graduated in the previous season. This season will feature another re-branding for the franchise and is being considered a standalone series to its predecessor. It will tell the stories of a new generation navigating high school drama with groundbreaking stories such as cyberbullying, mental illness, dysfunctional families, sexuality, online harassment, feminism, racial discrimination, life-threatening diseases and drug use. It will also target the new post-millennial teen cohort known as Generation Z.
Fuller House: Fuller House is an American family sitcom and sequel to the 1987–95 television series Full House, airing as a Netflix original series. The series centers around D.J. Tanner-Fuller, a veterinarian and widowed mother of three sons, whose sister and best friend—the mother of a teenage daughter—provide support in her sons’ upbringings by moving in with her.
The Killing: The American version was developed by Veena Sud and produced by Fox Television Studios and Fuse Entertainment. Set in Seattle, Washington, the series follows the various murder investigations by homicide detectives Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) and Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman).
River: River is a six-part British television drama series, created and written by Abi Morgan and starring Stellan Skarsgård and Nicola Walker. It premiered on BBC One on 13 October 2015, and internationally on Netflix on 18 November 2015.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones: Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica Jones, a former superhero who opens her own detective agency after an end to her superhero career. Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Wil Traval, Erin Moriarty, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss, and David Tennant also star in season one.
Between: Between is a Canadian science fiction drama television series which was Created by Michael McGowan, the series stars Jennette McCurdy as Wiley Day, a pregnant teenage daughter of a minister living in the small town of Pretty Lake, which is coping with a mysterious disease which has killed everybody who is over 21 years old.
Sense 8: The plot revolves around eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become mentally and emotionally linked. The show aims to explore subjects that its creators feel historically not been emphasized in most science fiction shows to date
Daredevil: A lawyer by day and a vigilante by night Charlie Cox stars as Matt Murdock / Daredevil. He juggles to keep is identity a secret and is friend and business partner Froggy deals with the fact that the man he knew since college lives a secret life.
House of cards: Set in present-day Washington, D.C., House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th congressional district and House Majority Whip who, after being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, initiates an elaborate plan to get himself into a position of greater power, aided by his wife, Claire Underwood (Robin Wright). The series deals primarily with themes of ruthless pragmatism, manipulation, and power.
Narcos: Narcos is an American crime thriller television series created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro. Season 1 tells the story of notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, who became a billionaire through the production and distribution of cocaine while also focusing on Escobar’s interactions with drug lords, DEA agents, and various opposition entities.
